One day, however, a shocked Barbara bumps into Nikos on the street and confronts him. Nikos denies his identity, claiming that he only happens to resemble her late husband and is not in fact the real Nikos. That's when Barbara decides to bribe the "stranger" into pretending to be Nikos so her father will stop hounding her to remarry.
